In Memory of
Steve Ben Israel has been a great inspiration to the world & held a huge inspiration & influence on me personally… shaping my life path in many ways with the confidence he bestowed on all poetic soul seekers of life to carry on making noise. Thank you Steve Ben Israel for your constant entertainment, flow & words of wisdom!! Thank you Baba Israel for introducing us, as your meta-fam to him back when you did!! (You, Steve & Pamela always made me feel like kin whenever I’d visit!) Most amazing memories of the times we all had together, will live & play on for the rest of my trek down life’s path. Much Love & Respect!!

Celebrating its 9th year, Kuranada Roots is a festival honoring Reggae, Soul & Sound System Culture…
Kuranda Roots was conceived by Rudekat Records and The House of Falcon. For the last several years the wonderful Andrea Sharp co-directed the event – she has now gone to raise her family in the dreamtime country of Laura in Cape York. Filling her boots is Billy Dread (Bushweek Festival) who brings his rocksteady outdoor event crew – the Dreadagade Sound to keep the fyah burning!
“This year’s program is the most exciting to date, with a brilliant mix of roots and reggae acts, international anarchists, deep dub and electro artists, skankers and punkers all mashing it up with the best North Qld has to offer. We are chuffed to announce a collaboration with local avant gardists ArtHouse and the muliti talented Kuranda Coots who will be adding a multi dimensional twist to our arts program.”
Some of the performers who will be playing this year are: Combat Wombat, Monkey Marc, Elf Tranzporter, Kingfisha, Zennith, Die Rude ft. Lotek, Rastafari Riddims Feat. Marcus Fari & Culture Harry, Zennith, Darky Roots, Billy Dread, Kurandacoots & more!

Roots and Bass is a new event concept to hit Brisbane, brought to you by the people behind Earth Frequency Festival.
Inspired equally by the fast rising future bass music movement which includes dubstep, glitch-hop, crunk and breaks … and the more traditional styles of dub, hip-hop and reggae, Roots and Bass seeks to connect the cultural dots and serve up a tasty fusion of all things bass flavoured.
Our first offering sees rising aussie future bass acts Dysphemic & Miss Eliza and Circuit Bent share the stage with long time hip-hop/dub pioneers Monkey Marc and Elf Tranzporter, with local support from The Mank and Interval.
Its going to be a huge night, we hope to see you there !
